Abstract

This project designs a B1 EFL material for a communicative and task-based learning unit that includes the use of social media and develops the communicative competence and the communicative skills. Throughout the project, we intend to analyze the learning needs of a specific group of students, in this case a B1 EFL high school students whose motivation is an essential aspect to reflect on our performance as a teacher. It leads us to include current social networks as tools to engage learners and promote the development of their communicative skills in order to communicate in the target language. Additionally, the creation of our material follows communicative task-based and communicative tasks, being the objective to simulate real-life contexts that our learners might encounter in the future.
